What we collect, why we collect it, who else touches it, and how to make us delete it. Written to be read, not to be survived.

1Who is responsible

Daily Better You is run by Jakub Jura, a sole trader registered in the Czech Republic. Full details are in the footer of every page.

For the quiz, the email list and this website, that trader is the data controller under the General Data Protection Regulation. That means the decisions about what is collected and why are made here, and the responsibility for them sits here.

Payments are different. The merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, is the seller of record for every purchase. It takes your payment details, charges any tax due, issues your invoice and handles refunds, and it is the controller of that payment data under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card number.

2What we collect

We do not run a customer database of our own. There is no login, no stored password, and no server holding your files. Everything above lives in the tools listed in section 6.

3Why, and on what basis

Every use of your data needs a lawful basis. Here is ours, line by line.

The table scrolls sideways on a small screen.

What we doWhyLawful basis
Send you your quiz result and the free guide that goes with it You asked for it. It is the thing you gave us an email address to receive. Steps taken at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
Deliver a product you bought, and support it You bought it. Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
Send marketing emails You ticked the box that said so, separately from the result above. Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), withdrawable at any time
Score your quiz answers into an archetype and use it to choose which emails you get The whole product is a personalised plan. Sending everyone the same generic sequence would make it worse for you and worse for us. Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), with a written balancing assessment on file. You can object (section 10).
Measure how the site and the funnel perform, and show ads To find what is broken and to reach people like you. Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) through the consent banner, for everything beyond what the site needs to work
Keep accounting and tax records Czech law requires it. Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c))

4The quiz

The Better You Diagnostic is 22 questions and takes 5 to 7 minutes. It is profiling, and we say so plainly rather than hiding it behind the word "personalisation".

What it asks about is deliberate. Every question is about behaviour: what you do, what you skip, how you start things, how you handle a slip. It never asks about your health, your diagnoses, your mood, your beliefs, your sex life, your politics, or anything else the law treats as a special category. The scores it produces describe habits, not a person's mind or body, and they are never a diagnosis of anything.

No decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made automatically. The quiz picks which emails you receive and which guide we point you at first. That is all it does.

You can object to the profiling at any time by writing to us. We will keep sending what you asked for and stop scoring you.

5Two separate email consents

Getting your quiz result and getting our marketing are two different things, and we keep them apart.

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link that works in one click. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and it does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

6Who else handles it

We use a small number of outside services. Each one is bound by a data processing agreement, and none of them is allowed to use your data for their own purposes.

The table scrolls sideways on a small screen.

Advertising platforms are covered separately in section 9, because nothing reaches them until you say yes.

7Where it goes

Several of the services above are based in the United States, so your data leaves the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified under it, or on both.

You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards that apply to any specific transfer.

8How long we keep it

9Cookies and tracking

The first time you arrive you get a consent banner with a real choice. Nothing beyond what the site needs to function runs before you answer it, and refusing is one click, in the same size button as accepting.

One thing worth saying out loud, because plenty of sites do the opposite: our consent banner also gates the server-side events we send to advertising platforms, not only the tags in your browser. If you refuse, nothing about your visit is forwarded from our side either.

You can change your mind whenever you like through the cookie settings link in the footer of the site.

10Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you can ask us to:

Write to support@dailybetteryou.com. We answer within 30 days, and there is no charge.

If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Czech data protection authority, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz), or to the supervisory authority in the country where you live.

11Security

The safest data is the data nobody holds. This site is static, there is no database of ours to break into, and no card details ever reach us. What is left lives inside the services in section 6, each of which is a company with a security team and obligations of its own.

Access to those accounts is limited to the people who run Daily Better You and protected with two-factor authentication.

12Children

Daily Better You is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and nothing on this site is aimed at children. If you believe a child has given us their details, write to us and we will delete them.

13Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters to you, for example a new processor or a new purpose, we will say so by email before it takes effect.
